Staphylococcosis
Staphylococcosis is a wide variety of conditions associated with different species of disease producing S. aureus. S. aureus is considered as normal flora, they are extremely tough and can survive away from bird for many months particularly under dry condition.

For infection to occur, injury of skin or mucus membrane is essential. Damage to bird's defense mechanism during IBD,. MD or CIA predispose the infection.

S.aureus causes variety of conditions which include arthritis, gangrenous dermatitis, yoc sac infection, bumble foot, septicaemia, endocarditis, modular growth on liver spleen and other organs.

Symptoms include ruffled feathers, limping, drooping, swollen joints, sit on hocks and keel bones, dermatitis.
Liver Lesions: Liver is congested and shows multiple foci of necrosis.
