Inclusion Body Hepatitis
IBH is a disease of young chickens characterized by anemia and
hepatitis. Outbreaks are generally seen in chickens under 3 weeks with
mortality ranging from 10%-30%.
Immunosuppression due to IBD or chicken anemia predispose the
disease.
IBH is caused by Group 1 adenovirus.
Symptoms
IBH is characterized by sudden onset of mortality which peaks after 3-4
th days and generally drops after 5 day. Sick birds adopt crouching position with
ruffled feathers. Overall feed conversion and weight gain is greatly affected.
Liver Lesions: Liver is pale, friable, and swollen, and frequently
has haemorrhages.
